Pols to meet on schools
The three candidates for prime minister are to take part in a conference on education Monday. The conference is to be be held at Tel Aviv University, with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Likud chairman MK Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak there.
A survey by educational reform group Hakol Hinuch found that Yossi Sarid was Israel's best education minister and Meretz was the most committed to education.
The survey also revealed that most of those asked weren't familiar with the reform underway for the past two years. According to the survey, 53.3 percent of the public has not heard of it, and 21.6 percent has heard of it but know little about it.
Of those polled, 31.3 percent ranked Yossi Sarid as the country's top education minister, followed by Zvulon Hammer, with 23.6 percent.
