Police question Palestinian claim settlers burned his herd of sheep
Palestinian shepherd says he saw settlers light a fire in the field where his herd was grazing, burning to death 12 pregnant ewes, and then drive away.

Samir Bani Fadel told Haaretz he was with his herd, which was grazing around the Majdal village near Ma'aleh Efraim and the Gitit settlements in Samaria on Saturday morning when four settlers came up to him and chased him away.

He then saw them light a fire in the field where his herd was grazing, burning to death 12 pregnant ewes and badly scorching a few others. After they set the field on fire the arsonists, who were wearing skullcaps, entered a car and drove away, he said.
Police in the area said they had received a complaint and opened an investigation. They said some of the details were questionable, like the settlers' entering a car on the Sabbath, when most Orthodox Jews do not drive.
Most violent incidents perpetrated by settlers against Palestinians take place on weekdays, police sources said.
The Yesh Din human rights group said that in cases of settlers' violence against Palestinians, 90-92 percent are closed, mostly because the perpetrators are not found. These figures are based on 700 cases opened after claims of violence. In cases of vandalizing or destroying property, no charges are pressed in 100 percent of the incidents.

This attack could have very well taken place. I was in Hebron this summer with ISM and CPT for 6 weeks and on a Saturday I witnessed an attack on a Palestinian man by settlers who beat him up in his own yard. They were wearing kippahs and had just come back from prayers. The assault happened near the Kiryat Arba settlement.

For the settlers, race hatred of the Palestinians takes precedence over Shabbat. Everyone who has read this story knows in their heart it is true. These racist settlers will destroy Israel
Some extremist settler youth groups do not care about sabbath, they care only about their own illegal outposts.

The behavior of some of the settler youth desecrates Israel. Instead of studying and looking for a honest job in the country, they destroy its image by insisting on living in illegal settlements where some of them indulge in shameful, violent behavior. This is unacceptable.
It could very well be Settlers. Zionism does have priorities. Rabbis have already ruled that sex between female Israeli agents and non-Jews -in the service of the Israeli state, is Kosher. It is not unreasonable to assume the same could be said about driving on the Sabbath in the service of larger Zionist interests.
Even if you want to argue that such an act is a mitvah and I dont think it is we are forbidden from profaning the Sabbath for that especially since it could be done on a week day. However I dont condone burning fields or sheep

Whatever fight Jews may have with arabs, it should be limited to people and not be spread to animals. The sheep and goats didn't do anything wrong and should not have been burned to death. This is fighting dirty, whoever is responsible.

since this incident happened before the stabbing incident i presume the settlers knew there was going to be a stabbing and carried out their revenge beforehand... also these violent acts by settlers happen too often.

You have obviously never been to Israel or a Settlement. The Settlers are THE NICEST, finest people around. WHO is forced to live in 24 hour protected, gated enclaves. Not the Palestinians. For instance, on the sabbath that fire was raging on the Carmel, 150 sheep were stolen from an assassinated Jew's widow near Hebron. Jews' orchards are arsoned all the time by Arabs and the army's reaction is to arrest the Jews.
