The Foreign Press Association in Israel has asked Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein to step in to stop violence against members by the Israel Defense Forces. The written demand comes after 10 complaints of violence and disproportionate use of force by IDF soldiers and Border Police officers against journalists in Israel who work for foreign news organizations, including a number in the past several weeks. In one case an Associated Press photographer was detained, handcuffed and forced to sit on the ground for five hours without food or water or access to a bathroom. (Gili Izikovich )
