Israeli dance work premieres in Sweden
Sharon Eyal and Guy Bachar's dance work "Untitled Black" had its world premiere over the weekend in Sweden, performed by the Goteborg Ballet. The production, which will run in the Goteborg Opera House until November 16, was performed along with a work by fellow Israelis Guy Weizman and Roni Haver in an evening entitled "Homeland?" whose subject was feeling at home. The dancers in Eyal and Bachar's production include several who left the Batsheva Dance Company at the end of last season, and two who left in 2011. (Shir Hacham )
Pioneering Hebrew singer Esther Gamlielit, 93
Esther Gamlielit, one of the pioneers of Hebrew song, died Wednesday at 93. Gamlielit, who immigrated from Yemen as a baby and grew up in Kerem Hateimanim, became a star in the 1930s, after having previously danced with Rina Nikova's Biblical Ballet, appeared with the Matateh satirical theater troupe and performed on Israel Radio during its early days. Many of her songs became popular tunes sung by Israelis for decades. But marriage and children led her to abandon the stage in 1950, after which she performed only rarely. (Haggai Hitron )

TA Fashion Week to take place next month
Tel Aviv Fashion Week will take place from November 11-13, with Italy's Moschino fashion house as the featured guest. Wednesday's announcement put to rest fears that some behind-the-scenes tensions would result in the event being delayed or canceled. But the two entrepreneurs who revived Tel Aviv Fashion Week last year after a 20-year hiatus, Moti Reif and Ofir Lev, will not be producing this year's event, for reasons that were not clear Wednesday. Moschino will be showing the 2013 spring-summer collection it displayed in Milan last month. (Shachar Atwan )
