MK Nudelman joins Kadima party
Nudelman will be Kadima's second MK from the Russian immigrant community, joining Deputy Minister Marina Solodkin.
MK Michael Nudelman, formerly of Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beiteinu party, joined Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's Kadima party yesterday.
A professor of economics and mathematics who immigrated to Israel from the former Soviet Union in 1991, Nudelman left Yisrael Beiteinu because he supported Sharon's disengagement plan.
He has essentially been functioning as an independent for the past several months. He will be Kadima's second MK from the Russian immigrant community, joining Deputy Minister Marina Solodkin.
In addition to his disagreement with Lieberman's party over the disengagement, Nudelman also objected to the party's financial management, and even filed suit against Yisrael Beiteinu over its use of funds from Aliyah, a faction established by himself and MK Yuri Stern in the late 1990s that later merged with Lieberman's party.
