Men who gouged out cabbie's eye get 8 years in plea bargain
The Petah Tikva District Court yesterday convicted two men of brutally robbing cab driver Ya'akov Mizrahi. The two defendants, Ofer Finko, 21, and Gara Morositz, 19, stabbed Mizrahi in the eye with a screwdriver before taking off with NIS 85 and the car radio. Under a plea bargain, the men, both from Rehovot, pled guilty to aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime, and received eight-year sentences. According to the indictment, they robbed Mizrahi after failing to break into a car with a screwdriver, injuring Mizrahi as he tried to fight them off.
