U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will arrive in Israel next week for a visit that she hopes will boost her support among New York Jews.
Clinton will meet Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to discuss security issues and United States-Israel relations. She will also take part in a conference dealing with relations between the U.S. and Israel and tour the Jerusalem-area separation fence.
Clinton will also meet Vice Premier Shimon Peres, Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni.
The New York Times reported yesterday that Clinton would discuss the developments following Israel's pullout from the Gaza Strip at her meeting with Sharon.
