The Composers, Authors and Publishers Society of Israel (ACUM) has chosen author David Grossman as one of the recipients of this year's lifetime-achievement awards, the organization announced yesterday.

Each winner will receive a NIS 30,000 cash prize.

"In his 30 years of work, David Grossman has formulated an intimate literary voice, both brave and insightful. It is an Israeli voice, and yet universal," wrote the judges on the literary panel, Hana Goldberg, Omri Herzog and Dorit Rabinyan.

Other winners this year include popular music composer Kobi Oshrat, songwriter Amos Etinger and classical music composer Yinam Leef.

The judges for the Hebrew song award - Dana Berger, David Levy, Yair Nitzani, Yoni Roeh and Yoram Rotem - praised Oshrat for his wide ranging 40-year career, during which he composed thousand of songs for movies, television, advertisements and theater.

The ACUM directorate chose to award two additional prizes this year, one to Yossi Alfi for his work with the Storytellers' Festival, and Moshe Rosenblum for his work in the field of Hasidic music.
