Official Jerusalem hasn't been caught saying a bad word about the Muslim Brotherhood victory in the Egyptian elections and probably won't have any slips of the tongue regarding the president-elect, Mohammed Morsi. All these years we've been saying that a secure peace is made with democratic regimes. And a democratic regime is what Egyptian democracy has managed to produce as a result of the protests in...

The more Germans know about the Mideast, the more they root for the Palestinians
A new study finds that most Germans who oppose Israel's Palestinian policies are not anti-Semitic, but pro-peace and human rights.

14 0 0A flight into Akiva's Fantasy ....
- By Jasper - Milwaukee

.... launched by the claim that Egypt now has its first democratic regime. Too early for that, Akiva. The test of whether it is democracy will come with the SECOND election, if it occurs. Remember, it is un-Islamic to oppose your regime, because it was created with the Will of Allah. You will having your dirt nap long before the second election, so you won't have to do any retraction.

Naomi get over your self-chosen selves and maybe read some news. I guess you miss what Jews do to each other on a daily basis. Worry about your own selves and how you treat each other and another people instead of worrying about what the Palestinians do to themselves.

The only thing that is missing in this account of German understanding
- By Brad
- 26 Jun 2012
- 05:04PM
is the most important thing: virtually all of Israel's conduct is based on a well founded fear that she has to defend herself and her citizens. But there is a secondary aspect to all this. And that is a well founded basis for thinking that Pals are occupying late comers to the area who will never live in peaceful co-existence with Jews. This is based on the centuries long persecution of Jews that pre-dated the occupation, that pre-dated the creation of the state of Israel and even pre-dated Zionism. All of that and the incredible violence visited by Pals on Jews, even infants sleeping in their beds, provides Isreal with all the ammunition any reasonable and responsible state would need to mobilize a very hard response.

This article reflects the true situation in Germany (and also in Austria) The Grass affairshowed - where are the people and where are the government (and the Springer press) Just the burden of the past prohibited for a long period of time a critical position. Grass and the submarines- a deadly combinationin the opinion field. There is no substitute for peace a n d security.

Antisemitic
- By mimibow

Whilst i can understand the Israeli Jews and Jews in general are concerned with antisemitic prejudice. We are talking about 27.5% percent of people with antisemitic prejudices. One needs to find out why? Is it due to Israeli actions, or just plain brain rot? I for one would love to see Israel move away from THEIR right-wing government and find a good lasting relationship that is as equals with the Palestinians not as superiors.

Not 25.7% of the Germans but of those 69.4% who are "relatively supportive to very supportive of the Palestinian side". Which is still too much though probably no more than in any other country.
