Haaretz sent a list of questions concerning the Crief family's claims to Professor Dan Oppenheim, the chief executive officer of the Herzliya Medical Center, and to heart surgeons Bernardo Vidne and Dr. Boris Gendel.
Ronit Matalon of Herzliya Medical Center responded for the hospital, noting, "At Herzliya Medical Center, to date, more than 5,000 heart surgeries have been performed. The mortality rate from heart surgery at our hospital is very low and is comparable to the data at leading medical centers abroad. Our heart is with the family and we are saddened by the loss of life."
The hospital has also informed Haaretz that it has received the suit and its response will be heard in court.
Professor Vidne has not responded to the claims against him.
