Treasury Still Fighting Hefty Bonus for Mientkavich

Treasury Director General Yarom Ariav and Accountant General Shuki Oren sent the bank a strongly worded letter on the matter.

The Finance Ministry said it strongly objects to paying any bonus to former Bank Discount chairman Arie Mientkavich. The bank's controlling shareholders, the Bronfman-Schron group, are trying to grant Mientkavich NIS 17 million. Treasury Director General Yarom Ariav and Accountant General Shuki Oren sent the bank a strongly worded letter on the matter. They also object to the proposed arbitration procedure, saying the bank, which is 25% owned by the state, has no reason what so ever to pay the bonus.
