Tiv Tam receives women's award
Tiv Tam food chain is to expand its network of nine stores and add another 600 workers to its 1,300-strong payroll. The chain opened seven years ago and its 2002 income has been estimated at NIS 1 billion. It plans to open a new meat store in Emek Hefer and to upgrade its existing stores in Haifa and Ashdod. On Wednesday Tiv Tam will get the President's Award to Industry for the Advancement of Women, granted by the Civil Service Commission, the Manufacturers Association, the Forum for Women Industrial Managers and the Israeli Women's Lobby, for its work in advancing the role of women in industry. Half of Tiv Tam's branch managers are women, and 70 percent of its total work force are women.
