The management of the Postal Authority filed a request for a temporary injunction against the Histadrut Labor Federation and the postal workers union in the Tel Aviv Labor Court yesterday.
The workers have been striking partially, and the authority claims the strike is "political." According to the authority, the workers are "using their organizational power, thereby causing enormous economic damage to the customers and state, in order to stop the reforms in the sector and to prevent transforming the Postal Authority into a government corporation."
The Histadrut declared a work dispute in February due to the failure of negotiations over an agreement on the workers' wage and pension rights before the authority becomes a government company and competition starts in the large-scale mail delivery market.
