Indian business leaders plan visit
A delegation of major Indian businessmen is scheduled to come to Israel in September in a bid to ratchet up bilateral business cooperation. In particular, the visitors are looking for investment and partnership opportunities.
Israel's ambassador to India, Mark Sofer, will accompany the delegation.
A very partial list of the prominent figures slated to visit include the chairman of textiles, plastics, packaging and chemicals giant SRF, Arun Bharat Ram; Gopal Srinivasan, chairman of the TVS Capital investment fund; and Harpal Singh, the chairman of Impact Group and mentor and chairman emeritus of hospital network Fortis Healthcare.
In addition, the chairman of the Punj Lloyd infrastructure and construction services group, Atul Punj; Rajan Navani, head of the Jetline Group packing manufacturers; and Jamshyd Godrej, chairman and managing director of Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company, are all planning to come.
The list of Israelis that the group is scheduled to meet is equally senior.
It includes Bank of Israel governor Stanley Fischer, Fishman group owner Eliezer Fishman, Israel Electric Corporation chairman Amos Lasker and Israel Aeronautics Industries chairman Yair Shamir, to name just a few.
