Drahi puts close aide at cable helm
By Amital ZivAfter acquiring a 45% controlling stake in cable provider Hot, French investor Patrik Drahi is consolidating his control of the company by installing his right-hand man Dexter Goei to chair the company's board of directors. With the new appointment Yisrael Chechik, who currently serves as HOT's non-executive chairman, is expected to leave the company.
Goei, 39, was Drahi's first appointment to the cable provider's board late last December. A U.S. citizen and an economics graduate from Georgetown University, Goei was with Morgan Stanley for a decade as a top media banker. For the past six months Goei has acted as the chief executive of Altice, Drahi's media company, through which he controls HOT and recently bought out MIRS.
