On Friday, Delek USA employee Jim Hammett, 53, became the second fatality from the November 20 fire at Delek USA's refinery in Tyler, Texas (after James Dale Sharman, 49, died on November 21). The fire erupted in the saturated gas unit at the refinery, which belongs to the energy arm of Yitzhak Tshuva's Delek Group and has a maximum production capacity of 60,000 barrels a day.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, and the damage to the refinery, which has not yet resumed full operation, is still being assessed. However, Delek USA CEO Uzi Yamin has disclosed that the damage is not substantial.

In the meantime, five workers at the Tyler refinery have filed a lawsuit in a Houston court for physical damages resulting from the explosion that caused the fire. Delek USA has stated that it is insured for about $1 billion against property and other damage to the refinery's commercial operations. The insurance allows the company to suspend operations for 45 days.
