Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was scheduled to speak at the conference but did not have the chance, remained in the hotel with his security detail.
The terror attacks in London yesterday cut short the annual investors conference of the Tel Aviv Stock Market, which was taking place there in the Great Eastern Hotel. One of the blasts - in the Liverpool Street Underground station - occured near the hotel, and the participants were evacuated from the building. Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was scheduled to speak at the conference but did not have the chance, remained in the hotel with his security detail.
A number of speakers managed to appear before the audience of British investment managers and executives of major public companies .
More than 200 participants were waiting to hear Netanyahu and presentations from Israeli companies when the attacks occured. Organizers were left holding only a list of investors who participated.
About 80 investors and a number of managers of Israeli companies walked for 20 minutes to the offices of Duetsche Bank in the area, and tried to continue the conference without the stock exchange officials.
