Airbus planes en route to Israel
The first Airbuses are on their way to Israel. Israir is in advanced stages of negotiations for an estimated $250 million purchase of two European Airbus A-320 planes, TheMarker has found.
According to senior sources in Israir, Airbus will lease two planes of a different model until delivery of the new A-320s, and the deal will include an option to purchase two additional aircraft.
Should the deal come through it would make Israir the first local airline to fly the European models.
The carrier flies an average of 300,000 international passengers and about 400,000 domestic passengers annually.
