When Obama speaks (and says nothing)

All the faithful including those converts, ministry and laity must not set their conscience in opposition to the wisdom of God (church though varied) when teaching moral law (good rather than evil) and moral life ( liturgical worship) where Christ, meshiah, is true liturgical worship. The priesthood of the Old covenant was a prefigurement of Christ, the New covenant in the person of Christ his body and blood for all humanity, his authority, name, word and actions. anyone using the name of God for illegitimate reasons ,such as civil, criminal,corporate and or constitutional authorities must be refused, when contrary to the common spiritual welfare and ecclesial communion of the church. For we are created by God and have our being as stated in the books of wisdom Old and New. Those who live their lives in holy faith are like Zion, they will not be shakened. Grace and peace to the whole of Israel and the church of God, amen.

He was nominated for the Nobel prize NINE DAYS after he took office for the FIRST time. Hardly a credit to the Nobel committee.

Or not exactly. He is half African and half American, which is another thing entirely. I imagine he deplores the old Jim Crow days of racial separation in America as much as I do, but I'm white. I can empathise with how black people used to be treated in America, but they weren't my own family, or his either.

Yes, Levy is a nudge but he is a necessary one, holding the president responsible for words with meaning., like it or not.

I know what you are having difficulty with Gideon, I hear you, I have the same problem, but it's not what you are saying here. Obama, as a person represents a specific character of a person; intelligent ,somewhat honest(as much as a politician could be) and seems to have good family values. The making of obama as that person, does not correspond with what he is saying. The Difficulty you having, is what Obama is saying does not match with his character and what he should be or is. Do you know why? Because, when it comes to Israel he is not the one who is speaking. I know you would say ; but ,I see his mouth moving! Yes ,it is moving,but he is just the puppet who has been told what to say, that is why your logical mind can't take it as you see it as a contradiction, then it becomes meaningless or unexplainable. That is the only way today that it seems to please the Israelis and the Jews. Other wise you will be called an Anti Semite, or in your case ,a self hating Jew . I am sure ,you are familiar with those terms.

Well said and put Mr Levy... I admire your work. It's a game of politics. The Palestinians need to play it too. They are doing it the hard way. As an American who lives in Indiana, USA, I've been listening to him since 2007 and agree, that's all he does is talk and says nothing. As an average American, there's been a consistent assault from him and his administration on personal freedoms and devastation of our economy. If this is his agenda in America, how can you Israeli's trust him to have your best interest in mind. He's very charming, but is only interested in self promotion and is a puppet for one's name, I will not mention.

While I agree that words from Obama mean very little, it is too bad people as ignorant as you actually get paid to spread lies. Obama's only agenda, if you haven't figured it out by now, is degrading the US in every way possible. Cordially speaking with Isreal while arming enemies around them with war planes and downgrading OUR military isn't my idea of a leader...

The man does not believe his own words most of the time. There is no fire in his belly, no compassion in his heart. How can he command any kind of respect in the world or in America?

...Obama has taken the advice of Bill Clinton on how to handle Israel which was to win the hearts and minds of their people then address their governments policies. We can hope, can't we?

Gideon Levy needs to travel the world a little more - to achieve a better understanding of mankind. The moral high ground represented by the core values he cites is at best his wishful thinking. Core values are determined socio-culturally...e.g. Israeli core values differ from those of both North Korea and ZImbabwe. However, like the US, Israel too has its Nobel Prize winners and a sound sense of what is right and what is wrong. And Israel is also an extremely loyal high-tech sweatshop for the US. True, we are far from perfect but we are number two - we try harder. I think that this is what I would say if I could meet President Obama over a cup of coffee.

Dear Gideon, It's easy to take a shot at Obama. So far he has been an unsuccessful mediator. He appointed George Mitchell at the dawn of his Presidency and had high hopes that remain unrealized. It's his 2nd term and the Arab Revolution continues with mixed results for the West. Iran is busy building faster centrifuges and Syria is self-destructing by the day. The President chose to come to Jerusalem and Ramalah and Amman 1st and sent his new Secretary of State to Turkey among other nations to begin his own bridge-building program. Can he save a shattered peace process from another term of I/P imposed shelf-life? We'll see. But politics like many feats is first and foremost about showing up and then saying the magic words to many audiences to gain a modicum of support in a region that makes little room for fools errands.

These so-called omissions by President Obama according to Gideon Levy will be more obvious with the new government. Naftali Bennett has placed the importance of Jewishness above that of democracy. It does not need much imagination to read between the lines to what his intentions are..

Does he ever have anything positive to say about Israel? He greatly embellishes what he describes are Israel's negative traits.He is not fair ( or truthful) in what he writes , but he makes it sound good- all glitz & glamour, no substance.
