Since the start of the second intifada in September 2000, seven government committees and five cabinet decisions have called for the construction of a barrier separating Israel from the West Bank. Necessity for a barrier and terrorist fears - is this really the best vision to offer present and future citizens of Israel ? How about another one, which you can find in the Palestinian village of Khirbat al-Nabi Elias every Saturday morning, when the village is full of Israelis doing their shopping. Many shop signs are in Hebrew and Arabic, Israelis and Palestinians mingling, as it used to be in other villages in this area before the construction of the wall.
thank you
