I think your own self-aggrandizing & wordy analysis has wrapped itself tightly around the neck of its own argument. It is the consciousness of the creator, extracted from their writings, e.g. bible etc, which you say are partial and misleading, (only when mis-applied to suit our own evil devices), THAT are "most" instrumental, even arguably necessary, to a healthy, self-reflection of ones' former actions - and hopefully towards redemption, not despair. (as in your dark & hopeless version) As for Uri's way of presenting Diskin, he's not downplaying anything - you're just terrible at identifying writing style and technique. Probably due to your contrarian nature. Maybe, you need a "Creator"?.

Uri Misgav seems to be playing down the discipline of philosophy whose core method of discourse is based on some system of logic. Questions of principle and ethics he seems to be saying have no place in the “villa in the jungle,” presumably the neighborhood of the Middle East. He goes on to suggest that Yuval Diskin’s soul searching questions are impractical and out of touch with reality. Lovers of wisdom invented both science and philosophy some 2600 years ago; the former took the direction of asking practical questions connected to the material world, the latter focused on discovering the essence of reality and whether reality is static or dynamic. The leading questioners of ethical principles are represented in Torah, Gospel, and Koran. Ideologies tend to be static practical systems of describing reality; they are philosophies, the expressed wisdom of their creators. However, they can only be partial views of reality and therefore inaccurate and too often misleading---the cause of so much suffering in the word. The fact that Diskin is engaged in soul searching questions is healthy and necessary; it’s the only way Israel can redeem herself.
