Thank God for circumcision

Children do not assent to most of the things we require of them - true, but most things we do to them are reversible, at least in theory. When they grow up they can change their religion or become atheists, they can choose a completely different path in life than the one their parents carefully and painfully steered them through, they can switch national identity, citizenship - they can do and undo almost anything but regain the foreskin taken away from them without their informed consent. So what if circumcision is an ancient ritual? We have abandoned many ancient rituals and religious laws - e.g., animal sacrifices, stoning of adulterers, capital punishment for blasphemy, Sabbath breaking, etc.

If you write about Germany and circumcision at least get the facts right! There is no ban! What the court decided was that circumcision is bodily harm. Not less difficult for Jews and Muslims, but there is NO BAN! And in fact, every surgery is considered bodily harm according to law!

Circumcision is genital mutillation that has to be abandoned as other religious practices already were. Those who stopped animal sacrifices will have to stop this abusive practice, too and those who say it is a health-oriented practice,I suggest using condoms or water and soap. God is aware of medical strides and does not want us to comit sins, He is inmy conscience and as a Jewish and Israeli citizen I am sure He does not want me to commit crimes in the name of useless covenants and interpretations. If so Israel would nt exist and we would not have a place to live. Now we need a place to be safe and I hope Jews will not have to look for this in Germany only.
