Obama vs. Romney: on enlightenment and decency

This requires no additional comments. I am deeply worried by this Mormon practice. I don not trust Mr Romney on freedom of Religion and many other fronts.

The only negative criticism that can be made about Shavit's editorial is that it states the obvious.

The moderator "tipped the scale" by calling Romney on a falsehood. Fair debate can only be had, on your terms, if both sides strive to tell the truth. When one side consistently lies and media voices, such as yours, don't call them on it political discourse is profoundly tainted. If you don't or won't see this then the future for "fairness" is bleak. Fairness can only be founded on truth.

Get real Shavit. You seem to be saying that only Democrats are doing this to Republicans. Well, from an external point of view, it seems the other way around, but only worse.

So according to Shavit QE3 is in fact an intervention of the FED in the elections in support of Obama. According to this logic, the FED should not take any steps in order to support economic recovery until the elections. That's obviously a non-partisan path of action (or rather non-action). Though if what Shavit writes is true, and QE3 would indeed have some positive impact on the economy (and hence it would support Obama's re-election), then this means two things: 1. that as opposed to what Shavit implies, QE3 has lots of macroeconomic sense; 2. not doing it would mean trying to support Romney.

How very odd to hear a writer in a left-wing newspaper bemoan the sorry state of mainstream media! We're all drowning in a sea of Leftism, knee-jerk liberalism and Neomarxism.In Israel, Haaretz is consistently to be found amongst the most prominent offenders against both enlightenment and decency.Need one say more than Gideon Levi and Amira Hass? Or Carlo Strenger, Bradley Burston and Chemi Shalev? Get real, Haaretz!

I am an American and a political junkie. You obviously don't read the information one can easily find on the pages of the MSM or the various on-line publications. Mitt Romney's record as a governor is unimpressive contrary to what your column implies. It's hard to know if he is a moderate since he has shifted his positions on social, economic and foreign policy issues time after time. I suggest you go back and do a more credible research.
