Israelis must shun racism, not African migrants

Unfortunately, already Israelis have been raped and murdered by African infiltrators, most recently a corpse was found in a toilet at Tel Aviv's central bus station. Our government must expel these economic migrants and criminal elements back to their countries before it's too late, and there is a backlash from the grassroots which will happen willy-nilly.

I know illegal is a key word and such immigrants should be deported to their country of origin. But the most disturbing thing is white Israelis attacking black Africans instead of pressuring their government to do the deportation. Israelis should be among the least resist country in the world given their past history. I think they have forgotten how they were sheltered by some African countries during their ordeal. They only have around 60,000 immigrants but they make it like they are being taken over. Shame on you.

Shavuot is a festival whereby Megillat Ruth is read in the synagogue emphasizing the welcoming of the stranger in our midst. This is a far cry in Israel of today in the xenophobia exhibited towards refugees from Sudan and Eritrea. Should we ponder on our behavior towards the stranger in our midst?

I am tired of the bleeding heart Jews that feel so sorry for these phony refugees! Take them to pee on the grass and harass girls in the parks of your neighborhoods and we shall see how open minded you really are!

I go so far as to say that those who believe themselves righteous do not see the evil they do. Have the Jews learned nothing? That there are people who have arrived "illegally" into Israel is not new; in fact, prior to the War of Independence, many if not most Jews that emigrated to HaAretz did so illegally. Was not the world enthralled by the ship Exodus, by the bravery and strength of the sabras in bringing the persecuted into their land; in so doing, did not the land bloom, gain strenth, and become a strong nation able to defend itself against its hostile neighbors? I do not understand why violence was used...I am saddened as well.

Illegal migrants are not good anywhere. The key word is "illegal." They may be nice people individually, but they still break the law - that's why the word "illegal" applies to them.

I am neither Jewish nor African, but I have to post in praise of an excellent article that expresses much of what I feel as an outsider born and bred in a multicultural city (London) and now living in an island, my place of origin (Cyprus), that has historically been torn to shreds by the inability of people to overcome their bigotry. The Jewish peoples have had a history of being victims of such despicable and unjust behaviour more than most on this planet. I can imagine the spirits of those Jews who died in the holocaust spinning at the sight of today's Israelis persecuting African immigrants.

It is sad that the leftwing "Peace Movement" is inspired to seek changes that permanently compromise the safety and security of the state of Israel. 64 years ago, Israel was created and fought for by tough Holocaust survivors. Now we stand in 2012, leftist cowards who shirk military duty and national responsibility out of their misaligned opposition to the IDF's mandate to protect the state of Israel even at the cost of friction with the enemies of the state, seek to destroy the country their four father previously fought and bled to establish. It's a tragedy that rather than seek to protect their own blood, some wish to make Israel like any other country, a multi-polar society without a central identity or purpose.The leftists cry for the Palestinians, for the illegal infiltrators, but have zero empathy for the soldiers being attacked, the communities being terrorized (by Quassim's), and the Jewish-Israeli citizens being threatened. The Sudanese and the Eritreans are a problem that must be dealt with authoritatively. However the anti-Israel leftists who seek her destruction by tearing down the remaining pillars that support a unique state built for Jews and by Jews must be politically neutralized.
