Israelis must put a stop to the political police
The arrests and beatings of two days ago are sufficient cause to return to the streets immediately and tell the police: Stop, you crossed the line.
Were Daphni Leef a cynic, she would have sent flowers to the heads of the Tel Aviv police this morning as a thank-you present. On Friday they brought her back to public awareness, this time in the role of martyr. Thanks to them Leef became, at least briefly, Aung San Suu Kyi - leader of the opposition in Burma (Myanmar ) - and the images of her violent arrest could have come from the streets of Tehran....
