How many homelands do the Israelis get to have?

Gideon Levy, always on the wrong side of every argument, forgets (as do most people) that a century ago,when everyone recognized Jerusalem and Hebron as ancient Jewish cities, Tel Aviv was a new "settlement" next to Arab Jaffa. Jaffan Arabs were slaughtering their new Jewish neighbors because the Arabs claimed the land of the new Tel Aviv. (Check out the cemetery on Trumpeldor St to see the gravestones of Jews killed by Arabs back then.) So, are the Tel Avivi land-thieves going to return to their original stomping grounds in Jerusalem and Hebron? Or is Gideon Levy going to smugly turn every article against the government, and never mind the facts?

Imagine life as a Jew in Iraq today, supposedly there are 2 or so who remain after a commmunity over 2000 years old dissappeared, not only were they physically driven out, with public executions of leading community members and all their property being seized, but their existence has been expunged from Iraq's official history. Accepting the extraordinary suffering of Israel's arab refugees does not negate the suffering of the Palestinians, in the same way as acknowleging the Holocaust does not deny that Palestinians also can have endured suffering. I think we ought to consider in relation to compensation the issue of UNRWA. It has always amazed me that the world saw it to establish and spend billions of dolars on organizations to aid Palestinian refugees but never accepted any such responsibility for Jewish refugees, even though some of them as with they Yemenis had to be air lifted to safety in Israel over a mere number of days. I cannot understand why it is so offensive that Israel should request that the international community recognise that half its citizens have their origins as refugees from the Arab world and that their plight also ought to eb compensated for. How can you otherwsie justify to the family of Iraqi Jews who fled in the 1960s that they should pay for Palestinians who fled in the 1940s.

So as long as you are going home it is fine that you are being kicked out of your house, rioted at, killed (a bit) and being stolen from.? The Arab states were not expelling their Jews, they were just helping them to go home?

are you telling me they left mansions behind in yemen? what about the ones that willingly left? they get compensation too?
