Why we need to stop limiting the broadcast media during election campaigns and instead allow these outlets to function with the same freedom enjoyed by the print and Internet media.
The Knesset has passed an endless number of amendments to the 1959 Elections Law regulating campaign propaganda. But these changes have not met the tests of time and technology. The ritual repeats itself daily: A politician is interviewed on television or radio and the interviewer stops him every once in a while claiming that he is breaking the law banning electoral propaganda.
