Did Bibi's bomb bomb?

Netanyahu’s cartoon oversimplified the Iranian nuclear threat. That should not, however, cause us to miss the central message he was attempting to send.

The cartoon of a bomb that Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu displayed two weeks ago at the UN has become a target of ridicule. Israeli online parodies hammered the prime minister.

Bibi's Bomb - Brilliant PR Move

Bibi's bomb did not bomb. That image told a complete story at just a glance - and was carried in every major Western news outlet (most often on the front page). Even some of the Arab media ran the photo. It might have looked like a cartoonish prop that Wile E Coyote had prepared, but it successfully elevated this discussion to a global and meaningful level. It was a brilliant PR move.

  Sorry Josef, but Bib looked like a fool with that cartoon. We've all heard his argument for YEARS. His little cartoon looked like what it was, a bad politician trying YET AGAIN to get the world to but what he is selling. "You don't get it when I tell you, let me draw you a simple picture so you simpletons can get it." The world gets it, unfortunately it's just not buying it. The cartoon made him look like a flailing fool.

The central poblem isn't the cartoon bomb, it's the message itself.

Bibi had to tie himself in knots trying (unsuccessfully) to link together two mutually-exclusive arguments: (A) The Sky Is Falling! The Sky Is Falling! and (B) there's no need to do anything about it until next summer.
