Diaspora Jews want to be Israel’s partners - not only its donors

Why should any Diaspora Jew donate another nickel to a country that not only discriminates against its own citizens, but affords itself the "right" to determine who is and isn't a Jew! Just wait, the ultra orthodox will breed themselves into extinction. If it wasn't for the state propped up by diaspora contributions, they'd be starving by now.

I agree with all of the goals of T'ruah, but I you TRULY want to have an impact on Israel and government policy in Israel you should truly join us. Make the great leap of Aliyah.

Stop deceiving everyone, Jill Jacobs. You're on a big ego trip, and you don't represent 1800 rabbis. In fact, you don't even represent Rabbis for Human RIghts anymore, so stop acting as if you do! The real Rabbis for Human Rights live and work in Israel. They put their lives on the line for what they believe in. They don't sit in New York City behind computer screens and pretend to be actively concerned about Israel!

Having watched how NO Jews got to defending me when I was attacked in classes at the University of California for making any comments in reference to Israel I offer some insight. I don't expect to be protected by American Jews, I want to be protected from them, and the total lack of leadership concerning our civil rights in America. Please stop running away from the mess you have on American campuses, you aren't citizens of Israel as such you have no voting rights. If you did as much work actually doing rather than talking I wouldn't leave a comment, nor would my comments have any standing. But at the present moment, I have two nationalities, and this is what wisdom has endowed me with. No more American Jews in Israel: they will sink our ship because the strong and the proud will be the first thrown overboard on the ship waiving values.

Rabbi Jacobs, in the article you mention lobbying the U.S. government to spend billions of our tax dollars in Israel. Please stop this practice, I for one do not want my tax dollars going to Israel, we need this money here at home. Also, if you read these comments it appears that your organization is not well respected in Israel. I would stop sending them anything just because it is not appreciated. From the Israeli citizen's perspective it appears they can take care of themselves, their arrogance is not a virtue.

Jill doesn't get it yet. So here's another shot. 1. There are more American Orthodox rabbis than all liberal Jewish clergy combined. 2. The majority of Jewish youth who affiliate with Jewish institutions are Orthodox, not liberals. 3. Liberal Jews do not produce enough commited youth to sustain their current institutions. They will atrophy within 1.5 generations. 4. The future leaders of American Jewry by default will be Orthodox. 5. They oppose the T'ruah agenda. Israelis know this. That's why T'ruah et al are already irrelevant.

We need the money to stay were it belongs and were it is needed the most. You live in the US or Canada, then you should take care of your own country first.

"Rabbis for Human Rights" hardly has any real Rabbis as members. Most are self-described "rabbis" who have little knowledge or understanding of Jewish traditions and who are entirely nonconversant in Jewish Law. They are also vastly more interested in Muslim Rights than in the Human Rights of Jews. They are properly known as quacks and frauds - which is just one of many excellent reasons for the PM to ignore them. Just as most everyone else does.
