Between solutions and paradigms

The Geneva Initiative still provides a viable blueprint for separation, the reason why it has not been implemented has not changed from when it was drawn up. Neither side has had the will to do so at the same time. Will they ever? I would guess that from the Israel side the answer is no because of its changing demographic make-up. Could it be implemented through external pressure? Yes - but the US prevents that from happening. So the obstacles to a 2-state settlement are great but, in my opinion, if it is ever to happen the change is more likely to occur from the US changing its position then Israel. Could this happen? Given the US's continuing decline as a world power and if most of the rest of the world is ready to support the Palestinian initiative, it could just be possible. The one argument that we 2-staters must continue to show up for the hogwash it is, is that there are just too many Israelis now living in the West Bank. The Geneva Accord allows for land swaps and those settlers who need to be uprooted will not be left as refugees but will simply be returned to the country from which they came, Israel.
