American modern Orthodoxy, on the whole, educates its students to think like a secular person and have secular goals and aspirations whilst nominally adhering to "the Jewish thing". Is it a big shock that the majority of MO youth either go off the derech or veer towards the haredi world? They're simply looking for something genuine.
