How should we remember Shmulik Kraus – as an important Israeli artist who composed and sang beautiful songs, or as a violent man who viciously beat his partner? This dilemma touches not only on Kraus, but on a long – much too long – list of artists, intellectuals, academics, politicians and many others who were violent and committed sex crimes.
