A message to Israel's leaders: Don't defend me – not like this

There is absolutely no reason we should be allowing any war to exist period. It does not matter who is in the political foreground in any country, The bottom line is that it is profitable and too tempting to these people to ever change their ways or if they want to they haven't the slightest clue or manhood to own their mistakes. So damn sick of this shit!

The problem with your view is that the people of Gaza as well as their leadership will not stop until they have all of Israel. They don't want to coexist with you they want you and your family gone. Their opinion is that you are living on stolen land. Land which your government took from them by brute force. Do you think they choose to live in Gaza because it's pretty? They are forced to live their because off who they are. If not for Israel they'd be living in all of the cities you now call home. So you don't want to be defended? Understand the alternative. The only reason why there isn't peace is because the Palestinian people are not looking for peace. They're looking for your expulsion.

Mahmoud Abbas has no control over Gaza

It is first time somebody speaks out my most fundemantal thinkings. It is like Shalom Now coming back and Rabin`s rebirth, but unfortunately our voices are singular in this country where the old generation went right and the young one came to world under a wrong ethical concept.

This would not be an issue if the people dropping bombs on the towns of south Israel would stop trying to start an Evil war this is their doing and their responsibility, But The Lord will have the last say

Michal, I appreciate your perspective. I am an American Jew, so I'm not in the line of fire as you are. I am therefore not in a position judge. But, I genuinely don't understand what Israel could, or should, do in response to mortar fire from Gaza. I just don't see any indication that Hamas wants anything but the destruction of Israel. This, of course, does not apply to Abbas and the Palestinian leadership in the West Bank, and I agree that a lot more should be done to work on that end But, I see no indication that the West Bank leaders have any control over Hamas. I feel for you and the other families who have to deal with these rocket attacks from Gaza, and I certainly agree with you about the need for a long term solution. But, I am not optimistic that in the short run there is any alternative but to take whatever action is needed to prevent Hamas and others from firing into Israel from the West Bank. Thank you for your very moving and heartfelt piece.

What a wonderful article. An 11-month-old baby and a young child have been killed in Gaza and children in Israel and Gaza are having to live through something no-one should ever have to experience. If only the rejectionists on both sides could be left to fight amongst themselves and leave decent, sane human-beings to work out how to live as neighbours.
