Better living without chemicals
Sadat did not use gas against the IDF, for precisely the same reason that Syrian President Hafez Assad refrained from using chemical weapons in his conflicts with Israel.
“Gas is a weapon of despair, used when all is lost. That didn’t happen to any of us on the first round, nor [will it], I presume, on the second round. We have no plans that would lead them to utter despair,” the chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces said.
