As a US taxpayer for the last 25 years the only insult is to see our money support an Israel govt. that not only expects the continuation of such funding but without conditions. Actually, Morton Klein insults many American Jews who are liberal and believe in civil rights, and a two state solution. I was deeply offended and embarrassed by the disrespect shown to Prime Minister Netanyahu and his delegation by the Obama administration. I don't believe Obama is a neutral peace loving politician. He want better relations with the Arabs and he is making Israel pay the price for this. I understand why so many posts come from American Jews who object to the ZOA claim that it speaks for them. Every American Jew I know pretty much feels the same way: offended by the ZOA claim. On the contrary, I felt that Obama and his administration are really all the ways to get a moving toward peace and this is what I prase to them all the time. what Israel need is peace, what jews need is peace, what palestinians need is peace. No more settlement construction, no more ravange, just peace. America and the world is not made up of Zionists alone!

Its not immediately apparent to me that its just to permit a chronically violent people who attacked Israel trying to wipe it out, to simply get back their lands from which they launched attacks. Almost all systems of Justice, including the one you live in Lou, have principles that instrumentalities of serious crime are forefeited. Historically, and in many jurisdictions in the modern world, one's lands are forfeited if they are convicted of a serious crime. The so-called occupation occurred after all Israel's neighbours initiated war with the stated goal of wiping it out. Syria and Jordan were part of this access of international criminality. Its not at all obvious to me that it is just for them to get back their launching pads of criminality.

Not because they love the Arabs of the Palestinian or all the sudden they wanted to give the Palestinians a fairer deal. The relationship between the US and Israel is based on mutual benefit whereas the US provides Israel with a line of credit from money, weapons, political support , open market and in return, Israel will help the US keep the region on checks at the condition that Israel troublemaking doesn't outweigh its benefits. The problem is that US is spending hundreds of billions and its energy to fight groups who have used the Palestinian cause among others as an energizer for such movements from Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa, specially, the US is perceived as the protector of Israel and its violent and criminal treatment of the Palestinians. In order to resolve this, the US wants to give the PA and ok deal not necessarily what the PA want but a deal the would save the PAs face mainly unbroken land with part of East Jerusalem.

I am in complete accord with the ZOA. Not one thing has been asked of the Palestinians that they have even attempted to accomplish.All that Obama has done is to enbolden apeople who only want Israels total destruction.Wake up all you misguided people!

As the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, President Obama has already been acknowledged as a person who is a peace-maker. The recent nuclear deal with Russia is a concrete example of his desire for peace being matched by his actions. Coupled with his recent domestic political success with health care reform he is in a powerful position. What is insulting is the way Israel thinks American presidents are supposed to look the other way as they build countless illegal settlements on the lands the Palestinians require for a future state. Obama is finally doing something that should have been done long ago. You can't have a credible peace process while one side is out seizing the lands of the other.

The Obama Administration no longer believes what comes out of his mouth. They want concrete assurances from netanyahu that what he says he is going to do is what actually happens.
