Yishai: Migrant workers will bring diseases to Israel

I agree..that a worker should leave the country once their work permit is finished....but remember this problem is very typical usual problem in every country...as for those workers...going to home is again start of hardship so they want to stay...but not all workers does this ..many of them does leave..see the number ...1200 kids.. so including their parents 3600 people with kids accumulated over few years..and say another few thousand unmarried or without kids....does this number sound very big....try to find a humane way....specially for those with kids. remember they are human being not machines that you can pack and parcel to some other destination....also specially when u recive foreign workers ...u always have to remember u will have some problem regarding this ...and u have to accept this.....otherwise dont take at all any foreign worker....but that Israel cant do....agriculture sector simply will crush...there will be nobody to look after old people....u cant afford that...so why not allow them to stay?and specially presence of people from different culture will enrich Israel and also a multicultural society is always better than a single race based society but anyhow I have nothing to say ?that Israel?s own decision ..but I think Israel is going backward in this issue and will face sever problem as such single race based society always give rise of fanatic xenophobic people which eventually start to harm their own people?.

Eli Yishai and his clan are not native to this land. They immigrated to Palestine by virtue of their being Jewish. I wonder what tests did they have to pass before being allowed in. The children of American and European Jews who have long immigrated to Israel are illigible to receive their parents' homeland citizenship even though they were born in Israel and have never set a foot on the soil of their parents' homeland. Amazing how humans forget their own suffering!

100% correct Avi A. I feel for those workers who flee the brutality of their governments etc., but when the time is up, it's up. This is my personal experience as it happened to me.

Even though there is nothing wrong to deport illegal workers, every democratic states do so. But by saying that migrant workers will bring all kinds of diseases shows how Yishai is a racist. It's a shame that high-ranking official say so stupid things. Sooner or later, he'll say that tourists will bring all kinds of diseases, too. We are forgetting one tiny minute issue and that is the very same migrant workers have all defied the law and they have chosen to stay here - stay here regardless of the law and and at the same time hide behind their kids. If after going through their various health and police checks they then agree to work for 5 or 6 years (or whatever period) then they are legally obliged to leave israel and go home - what in effect is happening is that they are now standing behind their kids hoping to defy the law. If everytime this situation arises and it will happen time and time again unless the law is respected Nobody has a problem with law abiding workers - workers who respect the law and understand that when there time is up they MUST go home - the issue here is that they are almost refusing to leave A lesson is learnt and an example of these people must be made or we will ultimately face enormous social problems in the future

In Israel ..all the foreign worker ( can get work permit only after 1) They undergo a complete health checkup ( including HIV/AIDS , Tuberculosis, Hepatitis) in a single medical facility designated and authorized by Israeli Embassy in respective countries...and its pretty strict and expensive... 2) They need a police verification certificate ( PVC) to show that they are not involved at all in any current and previous crime, court case. 3) Only after that they can get visa provided the Ministry Of Interior (Eli Ishais dept) , and Labor department recommend it and then the Israeli Embassy issue the visa. 4) All this people after coming must immediately have a Health insurance and work insurance ( usually they get registered in "Meukhedet" medical insurance) ..also another health checkup is done that work insurance company needed) 2) Only after these worker worked in Israel say for 2 years ..and then remain even after their official visa period becomes illegal Alien.. So no way the illegal Foreign worker ( I am not speaking about Eiiteria refugees who came crossing Egypt border) can bring HIV/AIDS or Tuberculosis or Hepatitis B... 3) Foreign workers ( mainly form Philippines, Thai, East Europe ) are more decent and good behaved than any Israeli Arsim .....there is no recorded cases of crime in Foreign worker entered in Israel legally....Remember in all this discussion no body in Israel can said anything about crime related with them.. 4) They doe not exploit Israeli ..rather they are exploited by Israeli....east European Women?s landed up in the hand of mafia ring and ended up in prostitution by force...ther are so many case you will hear in Israel..its heartbreaking ..many of them became psychological patient forever. Remember Israel is always in the top list of woman trafficking in the world. 5) Men foreign worker sometime are not paid minimum wages....but still I would say these cases are much smaller.... When I read that Yishai claimed that immigrants bring "hepatitis" to Israel, I was very amused. The health authorities in Verona, Italy, have a map of the health risks of the countries of the world; Israel has long been deemed risky over hepatitis, and people who go there have always been advised to get inoculated against it - at their expense! If Yishai really thinks that hepatitis has just now become a problem in Israel, because of immigrants, it means that there are hundreds of thousands of people across the globe who know the health situation in Israel better than one of its Government ministers! Was he educated for more than the seven days prior to his brit milah? Had he been educated for a day more, he wouldn't have tried to fool his listeners.
