World Arab writers vow to fight Israel's cultural influence

The overwhelming reason for the growth of Islam is the number of children they have. This kind of story just shows how insular and ignorant the Arab world has become. They used to be purveyors of knowledge and wisdom. I guess everything has a shelf life. This Arab culture as it stands can't last much longer at this rate.

They should absolutely refuse to translate the four books published each year in the Arab world.

This sort of opposition to normalization is always in the Arab news and represents the views of a clear majority (if not all) Arabs in the region. Understandable? I suppose, but totally pathetic. As the UN annual human development survey notes, Arabs refuse to translate almost all Western (not just Israeli) books into Arabic. Their fear of ideas is astounding and their sense of victimhood knows no bounds. Judging by their willfully closed minds, their defeats seem self-perpetuating. Sad.

Israelis also resisted cultural normalization with Germany for over 50+ years! Many Israeli officials refused to set foot on German soil even if their flight made a stop in a German airport. So, considering the lack of peace between Israelis and Arabs, it is no surprize that some people oppose cultural normalization.

Nothing to "rethink" here. Arabs only "rethink" things when you bend to their will. Until then it is war by any available means. The Arab Writers Union would better serve Arabs by improving their cultural influences upon the world. If Israeli and western culture has major influences upon the Arab world it is not because of any sinister conspiracy or design. It is because of the same reasons that those values have influenced the entire world. It is the appeal to the individual human being that those values celebrate which is the cause of the influence.

The argument that "Islam is the fastest growing religion" is irrelevant. First, it's largely true because of the uncontrolled birth rate due to the fact that the majority are poorly educated. Second, the population of animals is a lot larger than that of humans, but it doesn't make them smarter.

There is no culture in terrorism ! The world Arab writers must 'vow to fight' those who are giving a bad name to those who are giving a bad name to both Islam & Arab. That is the first duty of the Arab writers . Terrorism hijacked both Arab & Islam everywhere in the globe; homes, schools, mosque ... Islam radicalism is at war & not only with Israel, but with the entire human civilisation.
