War in the north

In July, a cross-border Hezbollah operation left eight IDF soldiers dead and two kidnapped to south Lebanon.

Israel declared war on Hezbollah, in a 34-day conflict marked by Israeli bombardment of Lebanese towns and cities and Hezbollah rocket attacks against northern Israel.
