WATCH: MSNBC contributor slams network for a 'pro-Israel bias'
Italian-Palestinian MSNBC news contributor accused the network of a pro-Israel bias, giving more airtime to Israeli officials and the Israeli perspective while leaving out Palestinians.
Italian-Palestinian MSNBC news contributor Rula Jebreal slammed her network's 'bias towards Israel' in coverage of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Jebreal was a guest on Ronan Farrow's show, where she insisted that MSNBC gives far more airtime to Israeli leaders and the Israeli perspective, while marginalizing the Palestinian point of view.
At the beginning of the segment, Farrow asked Jebreal, in reference to the conflict, "Why can't American leaders be more honest?" She responded because of "AIPAC, the money behind it, Sheldon Adelson and because of all of us in the media." She went on to say, "We [the media] are disgustingly biased on this issue."
"Look how much airtime Netanyah and his folks have on air on a daily basis; Andrea Mitchell and others. I never see one Palestinian being interview on these same issues," continued Jebreal. The comments came Monday afternoon, the same day Israel reported 13 soldiers killed and Palestinian authorities claimed the death toll had reached close to 500 in Gaza.
