VIDEO: Israel's immigration police cracks down on pro-Palestinian foreigners
Newly formed Oz Unit has joined the IDF in at least three arrest raids on foreign activists in recent weeks.

The Oz Unit participated last week in the attempted arrest of a number of activists in the West Bank town of Bil'in, and also in the raid that nabbed leading Palestinian militants Mohammed Hatib that same night. Two weeks ago, the unit took part in the arrest of a Czech activist in Ramallah.
In the video above, unit personnel can be see clashing with international activists who refused to present their passports during the arrest raid.
An Israel Defense Forces officer can be seen ordering the activists to obey the unit's instructions, explaining that immigration officials have every right to make such requests. The same officer then urges the immigration official to search for some default or problem in the detainee's documents,
The IDF soldiers can later been seen forcefully detaining a few of the activists. When asked why the arrest was being carried out, the soldier said that the immigration official would explain everything.
None of the activists was actually arrested in the end, but forces later went on to detain Hatib.

A pox on the British for issuing that accursed Balfour Declaration in 1917, after having promised the Arabs self-determination for their role in helping drive out the Ottomans. The Palestinians protested immediately, the Muslim-Christian Association objected to the displaying of the blue and white flag with the star of David in 1918, a letter of protest was sent to the military governor. And what business did Britain, France, Italy and Japan have in deciding to issue the San Remo Treaty in 1922? Colonialism might have still been a way of life then, but the Arabs made it clear that they did not want their demographics destroyed in favor of a Zionist state made up of waves of European immigrants which would change the statists of 9% Jewish population. Both the Balfour Declaration and the San Remo treaty specified that "nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine." What business did Britain, France, Italy and Japan have in determining what to do with the Arabs' territory? That was back in the good old days when colonialism was a way of life. In September 2007 Israel's High Court ruled that a section of 1.7 km of the separation wall had to be dismantled, redrawn and rebuilt, because the present wall had been illegally built on land belonging to the Palestinian village of Bil'in. I am not even talking about the ruling of the International Court of Justice in the Hague. At the time the Defense Ministry said that it would respect the ruling, but those critics who predicted that the State of Israel would cynically ignore the ruling of its own Highest Court of Justice, turned out to be correct. After more than three years nothing has changed. This so-called immigration police unit is in violation of Israeli law and has no jurisdiction in Bil'in!!

Clearly you are an armchair warrior, whereas I have been in Bilin and other parts of occupied Palestine many times. There are no human rights watchers in Palestine who have not been sworn to non-violence, even when under attack from Israeli soldiers and settlers. Having been personally violalted by members of both groups, I think I speak from a lot more experience than you do. Mohammed Khatib, who was recently re-arrested by IDF, is a Palestinian Ghandi who doesn't have a violent bone in his body. It appears Israel, realizing it is losing the propaganda war, is now going after peaceful protesters, Israeli, Palestinian and others from around the world, in an effort to silence the truth.

Too late to put the cork back in the bottle. Too many people have already witnessed and reported on what Israel has been doing in Bilin and other parts of Palestine. These peace activists are among the bravest of humankind. The Palestinians will ultimately prevail, as did the victims of South African apartheid.
All human rights witnesses who visit Bilin are non-violent. There has never been an instance where a single one has acted violently, or even defensively, against IDF brutality there.

Activism is not a right of foreigners in any country is not a right in a democracy. Moreover, I am still waiting to see when these brave activists go to Zimbabwe and protest treatment of foreigners, or Gaza and act on behalf of gays or women, or Saudi Arabia or Oman on the right of couples to have sex without being thrown into jail. The reason Israel incurs such responses frankly is that it is one of the few places in the world where protest is not followed by an interminable jail sentence and trumped up charges (see Iran who claims to be a democracy).

I think its moranic for any of these individuals to try to call for a palestinian state which in the end will be a theocratic state, like Gaza is under HAMAS. If this was their ideal palestinian state, then the arab soldiers would have bashed their heads open after they disobeyed the first command. And as for the women, they would have been raped as well.

In a democracy, all foreigners have the basic right to participate in non-violent demonstrations against a government. That is a basic human right, independent of nationality, race or anything.

Having served in the Israeli Special Forces I was involved in many arrests of Palestinian militants. Unfortunately I also saw first hand the way the IDF treats Palestinian civilians, and the way soldiers talk about and behave towards peace activists. To put it lightly I was disgusted. It may be hard for a lot of Israelis to understand, but PALESTINIANS ARE PEOPLE JUST LIKE US! And, I encourage all peace activists to come to this country and protest against the continued Israeli Occupation. I am a Zionist and I believe in in the state of Israel, but not at the expense of another people. Its time to stand up to the settlers and move in the direction of peace. Long live Israel and Free Palestine!
Interfere with the duties of the authorities in any country, as these "activists" are doing, and you WILL be arrested and deported if you are a foreigner. Treatment would likely be much worse in the Arab and Muslim world. If these activists are so dedicated to human rights, let them go to Iran and protest there.
Having visited Israel nine times, I thought that the border control officers were strictly monitoring who was entering and leaving the county. If so, how did these trouble makers get in to begin with? Also,I believe that international law does require that the occupying power maintain law and order.
Is Mohammed Hatib really a 'Palestinian militant'? What does that word mean, 'militant'? Sounds more like the Israeli soldiers are the militants, courageously defending the security of Israel by arresting a non-violent protester in the middle of the night, harrassing civilians. "territories occupied" and not withdrawn from are still "territories occupied". Israel's immigration police have no place in "territories occupied" OR illegally annexed territories. This is unbelievable, the Israeli government is willing to have Israeli policement and soliders killed to arrest a handful of pro-peace protesters in the Palestian West Bank? The IDF should take their pictures and video them and then make sure every border entrance to Israel has them in place as person non grata. If they can not get in it would be better. Having met a lot of such people , they are idealists that often think with their passions and do not reason with their heads, nor logic. Parts of Billin are closed zones, Israeli are not allowed either. The right to be here is to whom? Large groups of them take part in these demos and if it was not for them being there it would fizzle out and not be in the news hardly at all. They are provocative. Nice to hear the voices, the picture is not great. Tell me why does the IDF not take pictures of them all and video like they do- they should, Pictures posted would be good.
