Unknown perpetrators broke into the Acre office of MK Abas Zkoor (Ra'am Ta'al) early Sunday morning.

Spokespeople from Zkoor's bureau said nothing was stolen from the office, and his laptop computer and printer were left untouched.

"We're shocked by this. It's known that Sheikh Abas has no enemies and that he helps all of the communities of Acre," a bureau statement released on Sunday said.

The break-in was discovered on Sunday morning when employees arrived at the office and found drawers and cabinets left open, with their contents spilled out.

"It's possible that someone was looking for cash or jewelry and didn't find any, and decided to leave," one employee suggested.

Zkoor's office is located in the new area of Acre, where the MK is from. He is active amongst the city's lower-class, and serves as a local leader of the Islamic Movement, which provides food and aid to the needy, including the families of drug addicts.

Police teams visiting the scene have opened an investigation. They took finger prints and will examine security footage from cameras installed on the street on which the office is located.
