Ridiculous article. President Obama inherited a disater from Bush and turned things around. I could go on and on listing all his accomplishments, but we all know what they are already. You must remember, he has done so while dealing with a very hostile GOP obstructionist congress. Their approval rating is in the TEENS for a reason! with regards to dealing with the Middle East and specifically the Israeli government, he has to just reiterate the policies the United States has consistently taken regarding the core issues and faciliating talks based on the expectations of the U.N. security council resolutions. It's not an issue of who the Israeli PM will be January 22nd, the criteria for conflict resolution is always the same no matter the party-led coalition. President Obama won't be middling with Israeli elections, he's just going to reiterate the facts and allow Israelis to choose their path.

In all reality, 4 years ago we were sinking fast in to an economic depression, fiscal policies in complete dissaray, Wall Street was in chaos, to name a few of the long list of "HUGE" problems he inherited. There have been several anti-Israeli American presidents over the years but none come close to Obama. Nixon was totally anti-semetic but even he helped Israel in its hour of need. Jimmy Carter was also against all things Zionist, and was an idiot when it came to spending, yet even he didnt refuse to meet with the PM of Israel. Without even considering the huge opposition he would have to contend with from Congress, Obama would be limited in what he might like to do in the Middle East - and especially regarding Israel - by his obligation to the Democratic Party. He could not do anything that would be unpopular with his party as that would negatively impact the Democratic candidate's election prospects in 2016.

Obama is weak, and does not stand the rough and tumble life of politics. He folds at the slightest opposition, delegates to dysfunctioning subordinates fails to moderate their deliberations or control their bickering, and he ends up picking the lowest common denominator. Besides time is short. Four years cut in half by the mid-term. And who can count on Netanyahu cooperating? He stretch the talks and creates side issues, and if push comes to shove he can contrive a cabinet crisis and let it drag until Obama is a lame duck. Alas. Obama will be remembered as the first black president and the first president to publicly accept same-sex marriage. Even Obama care, for what it is worth, was not his making. He will not add to this legacy even if he is given two more terms.
