Palestinian stabs, lightly hurts Israelis in West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba; IDF launches probe.
By Reuters and Anshel Pfeffer Tags: Israel settlements Israel newsA Palestinian stabbed and lightly injured two Israelis outside the settlement of Kiryat Arba in the West Bank on Thursday, before being himself shot and wounded.
A Reuters witness saw at least 10 ambulances and dozens of Israel Defense Forces soldiers at the site, a gasoline station outside Kiryat Arba that serves both Israelis and Palestinians.
Eyewitnesses said the attacker arrived in a taxi at the gas station, which also houses two kiosks and a hitchhiking stop.
They said attacker stabbed a man and a woman - one of whom is an owner of one of the convenience stores.
Tzah Kurzi, an off-duty Kfir Brigade soldier that was at the gas station, shot the attacker, who was moderately hurt.
Kurzi said a civilian car ran over the attacker after he had already been shot.
Kiryat Arba is located next to Hebron, a frequent flashpoint for tensions between Israelis and Palestinians.
The IDF has launched an investigation into the incident.
The IDF has recently lifted some of the main, permanent roadblocks in the West Bank, which have played a central role in restricting the movement of Palestinians, mostly between the main Palestinian cities.

are safe. No dead Palestinians no suffocating humiliation of the occupation no Gaza`s hermetically sealed sea side grave no ethnic cleansing no walls no apartheid no famine no whining. But of course if you want all of Palestine from the sea to the river yelling "We'll sacrifice victims until Jerusalem is ours" then you better stop playing victim because you are not victim you are an aggressor that has got what he deserves. And rightly so.
keep that in mind when you complain about Arab casualties. Keep in mind how many Israeli civillians Hamas has tried to murder with thousands of Qassams before the Cast Lead response. The figure of the number of Israelis the Arabs have tried to kill puts the number of Arab casualties in perspective, especially as they need not have hapenned if their leadership had heeded repeated Israeli warnings about consequences. Try to remember Israelis are not Kurds or Sudanese blacks its not a free kick.

"This year was the deadliest for Palestinians in the past two decades", you say. I honestly don't know if this is true or not. What I do know is that following operation Cast Lead, the Israeli border with Gaza has been the calmest it's ever been since Palestinian militants began terrorizing Israelis with rockets along the western Negev. Haaret'z had an article concerning this on its website about a week ago. Not responding to attacks puts Israeli lives at risk. Responding proportionately is simply lead by another attack on behalf of Palestinian militants. It bears the questions, is "overkill" the only way to bring a temporary sense of security to Israel? After all, 1400 Palestinians lost their lives in Cast Lead, and as you said, it was deadly. I agree. More and more, I get the impression Hamas baits these drastic responses in order to gain sympathy from good hearted people! It's seriously a shame!
You must be a comedian - I like your shtick. Israeli Pacifism - hah! Forget that this year was the deadliest for Palestinians in the past two decades, not to mention the suffocating humiliation of the occupation and Gaza's hermetically sealed sea side grave. If that's pacifism I shudder to imagine what Israel's holding itself back from doing. Also, what you're propagating is essentially ethnic cleansing. Don't call it "transfer" - at least be honest.
This article tends to bolster my argument that the more citizens that carry firearms, the less likely pertetrators of violent crime will get away.
Just in, Palestinian stabs 16 year old girl and a 45 year old woman at a gas station in Israel. The total succumbing of the Israel government to the Palestinians, in negotiations over Gilad Schalit, opening transportation routes and suffocating construction in Judea and Samaria, is showing its signs.. If this trend is to continue Israel will surely face more such attacks. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu should quickly recuperate and ensure constant pressure on the Palestinians, not his own people. This is foreseeable terror, every time the Israeli government shows weakness, the Arabs increase their violence. The government of Israel should freeze the settlement building freeze, and set a price tag of a thousand housing units for every terror attack.

The article says that the attacker was "shot and wounded". He wasn't killed.
The Jewish perpetrator wasn't shot at at all. He was arrested.
an assailant who shot 13 soldiers was disabled by a marksman but not killed? Are our own marksmen so incredibly inept? "The Israel Defense Forces has launched an investigation into the incident." They will find out only what they already know: that a Palestinian stabbed two Jews. Plus the assailant's name of course. The only person who could have helped them with their investigation got shot dead.
