Three protesters arrested inside Condoleezza Rice's J'lem hotel

Protesters demanding the release of Jonathan Pollard managed to reach floor where Rice was staying.

By The Associated Press

Police arrested Monday three protesters who managed to enter the floor of the Jerusalem hotel where U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is staying, a spokesman said.

The three protesters entered the hotel, climbed the stairs to the floor where Rice is staying and shouted before they were stopped by bodyguards, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.

They called on the United States to free Jonathan Pollard, an American who is serving a life term in the United States for spying on the Pentagon for Israel.

Police arrested the three protesters before they got very close to Rice's room, Rosenfeld said. It was not clear if Rice was in the room at the time, he said.

Rice had earlier in the day held a meeting in the hotel with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

    Sarah's remark about American dimwits

As an American living abroad, I take offense at Sarah's remarks about the American dimwits causing such a ruckus in Israel. Perhaps Sarah you miss the bright side of the equation? At least, they are no longer in America causing a ruckus wherever they proclaim themselves as the only real Jews. Just think, by taking in these lonely souls, you are doing your ally a priceless favor!

American dimwicks living in Israel thinkingthey are being super-Jews by advocating extremism. It is these people who have turned Hebron and many other places from legitimate, historic enclaves of Judaism into trash camps of no-brained thrasher Jew ravers whom everyone hates. How I miss the days when I could support religous Jewish causes without fearing I was supporting people like the Pollard nutwings. The Arutz Sheva has a poll about Pollard-with NO option to say "Dipolomacy". These people are out of control and doing real harm to Israel's image everywhere and the image of Jews in many places. I no longer give to religous groups--and this is why.

I'm generally AGAINST capital punishment. Except for spies. They should be hanged.

To No.2: Actually, neither of the Rosenbergs was found to be innocent. When the Verona intercepts were declassified and the Soviet Union crumbled, it turned out Julius was indeed a Soviet spy, and Ethel, at best, a tag along. That however, does not justify their execution, especially when real spies like Ted Hall were never prosecuted, and Klaus Fuchs fled to Russia.

if they really want to get pollard out, they should work on convincing him to apply for parole. he's been eligible for it for more than 10 years! he doesn't really want out. like a spoiled child, he just wants to be right.

Spying for a ally as a defense did not work for the Roesenbergs, it did not work for Pollard, and it will not work for AIPAC.
