Thousands turn out for 'priestly blessing' at Western Wall
Ceremony led by Israel's two chief rabbis, Shlomo Amar and Yona Metzger.
Thousands of people turned out Tuesday for the traditional "priestly blessing" at Jerusalem's Western Wall plaza.
The ceremony was led by Israel's two chief rabbis, Shlomo Amar and Yona Metzger. The prayer is held every year during the week-long Passover holiday.
Israel Police barred private vehicles from entering the Old City in Jerusalem ahead of the ceremony, and the public was instead asked to the use public transportation.
Around 2,000 police officers were deployed around major religious and tourist sites in the capital. The Temple Mount was open to visitors as normal Tuesday.
