'There are Jewish terrorists still at large in Israel'

Shin Bet official: Jewish terrorist Yaakov Teitel acted carefully, decisively and with sophistication.

A senior Shin Bet official said Jewish terrorists that have not been caught are still at large and may be planning future attacks, Israel Radio reported on Monday.

The official's comments follow the announcement on Sunday that settler Yaakov Teitel was arrested last month for allegedly killing two Palestinians and carrying out a string of bomb attacks.

Teitel is not mentally unstable, said the Shin Bet official, who described him as an extremist who firmly believes in his ideology and who acted carefully, decisively and with sophistication.

The official added that Teitel functioned on the outermost fringes of society and said he cannot be compared with other Jewish terrorists, including the Jewish underground and Yigal Amir, who assassinated former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin 14 years ago.

"You don't need an underground with 100 people in order to cause grave damage," the Shin Bet official said.

Teitel was arrested on October 7 in the ultra-Orthodox Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Nof after posting signs around town praising the attack on the Tel Aviv gay center. He was apprehended with a loaded gun.

Police found additional weapons and explosives at his home and another concealed location.

Teitel was remanded and interrogated for about three weeks without access to legal representation, a step that was approved by various courts, including the High Court of Justice.

    1. Those "squatters" are people who were born there and, in many cases, come from families that have lived there for generations. The term for such people is natives. 2. If I read my history (and I have) I learn that the land was once part of Israel but the Israel it was part of ended in the year 70.

They steal the homes and lands from the lawful owners, then murder innocent civilians with their lethal weapons under the watch of the so-called idf. They even kill 1000 year old olive trees and poison drinking water. Such heinous acts are committed by the terrorist settlers as routine daily practice. Each one of them must leave the WB and East Jerusalem and never come back.

Regardless of what Teitel did or did not do, the behavior of the Shin Bet was disgusting. Can anyone justify tearing a one year old baby out of her mothers arms? Or breaking into his Apt in the middle of the night where 4 babies were sleeping when they already had him in custody? The Shin bet is being manipulated for political purposes by the left in Israel Also Teitel "confessed" to shooting 2 Gay people in Tel-Aviv when it has been proven that he was NO WHERE near Tel-Aviv on the day the shootings took place. Something very rotten is going on in Israel these days.

Heck there are around 1,500,000 Arabs illegally occupying our lands. Am sure that 300,000 terrorists is low ball figure. Now for so-called Jewish terrorists the numbers can be counted on one hand. Bet that Texas has far more terrorists than all of the history of Israel.

I think more important are the one million Arab squatters in Israel. If you read your history you will see the land in question is and always has been part of Israel. Just read a book once (not written by Edward Said, Amira Haas,or Noam Chomsky).

It's quite sad that this extremist and most of the extremist settlers came from America. It's inexplicable that people come to Israel in their 30's and 40's from America and take land from Arabs whose family have lived there before the establishment of the State of Israel, kick them off the land, and push the region to the brink of conflagration. Most of the confrontations between these extremists and the Arab population do not involve Sabra's but instead American expatriots. These extremists are terrorists and the rule of law must prevail before they cause harm to everyone.

When the outermost fringes become mainstream, the outermost fringes of the erstwhile outermost fringes become that mainstream's target. A case of ever-shifting goalposts. The only way to stop the rot is to move the goalposts back onto the pitch. Settlement freeze pleeze.
