The city of Tel Aviv will invest NIS 44 million in festivities to celebrate the city's 100th anniversary, Army Radio reported on Sunday.
The funds to pay for the festivities will come from municipal taxes.
The festivities are scheduled to take place over six months beginning in April at a conference held to present concepts on how Tel Aviv will look 100 years in the future.
The funds will also pay for a NIS 500,000 sculpture of Meir Dizengoff, the first-ever mayor of the city founded on the sands north of Jaffa in 1909.
