Teen beaten by father, uncle after telling them she was blackmailed
Police suspect girl was blackmailed by classmates who threatened to circulate sexually provocative photos of her; Victim told police she was severely beaten by her father, uncle after telling them of the extortion.
By Jack Khoury Tags: AcreAcre police are investigating allegations that a 16-year-old girl was severely beaten by her father and uncle after she told them she was being extorted by classmates.
According to the girl's complaint, a fellow classmate threatened to circulate sexually provocative photos of the girl if she did not pay her. Over the next four months, the victim stole around NIS 40,000 from her family to make payments to the classmate according to police.
The girl told police that a month before, her uncle noticed he was missing a large sum of money, at which point the girl decided to tell her family about the extortion.
At this point, police believe the father and uncle began to beat the girl, locked her in the basement, gagged her mouth, cut her hair, and sprayed her with chemicals.
On Wednesday the girl issued a complaint to area police who arrested her father later in the day. Police also plan on arresting the victim's uncle and the girl who orchestrated the extortion.

The Haredi often resorts to violence when it finds a violation of halachic law! We only needed to see this at Pesach when Israeli officers were injured protecting a restaurant that chose to sell leavened bread! Ultra-conservative Christians would be just the same. Point being, any extremist/Ultra-conservative religious person could be responsible for such a vicious attack.

So what if this is an Arab family? I could imagine something similar happening in a Jewish family in some parts of Israel- especially twenty or thirty years ago. If it was an Arab family it simply illustrates the generation gap that is emerging. I feel sorry for this girl, she got caught in a cross and was clearly frightened and isolated; a cruel blackmailer on one side and a hard family on the other. She took the easy way out, and at that age who can blame her? She was probably a silly kid to allow compromising photos to be taken but nobody ever accused teenagers of being sensible. I hope it works out for her.

My heart breaks for this poor girl...she needs to be moved far away from these savages that were once her family...her name has to be changed and her location undisclosed....because if not these animals will hunt her down and kill her. And these are the people Israel is supposed to make peace with..they cannot even act normally amongst themselves.

Joan, what are you talking about!! those are arabs, this girl is going to be killed sooner or later by a family relative, she has no place in her family, no in her town and not in Israel, she is going to be haunted. The only solution is for her to leave Israel, change her name and forget about her family FOREVER!!! Unfortunately there are many cases like this someones are reported someones are not, she is a very courageous girl...and she needs help.
I hope this girl never has to live with her family of sociopaths again. Please make sure she's put with a loving, caring family. And make the two male 'grown ups' do community service.
