Striking teachers to cancel high school classes in Tel Aviv Tuesday
Secondary School Teachers' Association protesting stalled wage agreement negotiations with the Treasury.
By Tamara TraubmannThe Secondary School Teachers' Association is continuing its strike and planning to cancel classes for grades 7 through 12 in Tel Aviv beginning Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
On Monday, eighth grade studies across the country were canceled.
The teachers are protesting a dead end in negotiations with the Treasury over teachers' wage agreements.
It is not yet clear whether a national standardized mathematics examinations scheduled for Tuesday will be administered as planned.
On Sunday, the teachers canceled high school classes in the Haifa district - from Hadera to Kiryat Yam. In accordance with an order issued by the National Labor Court, the national matriculation exams will not be affected by the strike.
