Stormy weather postpones T.A. memorial marking Rabin assassination
Event organizers expressed concern that few people would attend because of the rain that pelted Israel.
By Haaretz Service Tags: Israel news Yitzhak Rabin Tel AvivThe Tel Aviv memorial marking 14 years since the assassination of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin has been postponed for one week due to stormy weather conditions, organizers said on Friday.
The ceremony was scheduled to take place Saturday night at Rabin Square. However, organizers expressed concern that few people would attend because of the rain that pelted central Israel on Friday. Similar conditions were forecasted for Saturday.
Among the dignitaries scheduled to address the crowd are President Shimon Peres, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Kadima leader Tzipi Livni, Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai and Rabin's daughter Dalia.
U.S. President Barack Obama has also sent a videotaped message to be screened at the memorial, in which he will tell Israelis that the alliance between Israel and the United States is unbreakable.
Obama will also mention the legacy left by Rabin, who was assassinated in 1995 by a Jewish extremist.
Downpours and thunderstorms caused flooding across central Israel on Friday and were expected to continue on Saturday.

Rabin was against the PLO and did not believe in OSLO that was forced onto him. Rabin never would have allowed all the terrorism and violence that Ehud Barak fostered. Peres tricked Rabin and the Israeli people into making a Faustian pact with terrorist Arafat and many innocents died because of this treachery.
